MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Fire investigators are still trying to figure out what caused a massive fire in the 2500 block of Summer Avenue on Tuesday night.

According to fire crews, the total damage to the Transmission Clinic and Auto Repair is estimated to be close to $360,000 with a $500,000 loss in contents.

The origin of the fire is said to have been somewhere inside the building.

WREG reported last night two buildings and several cars were damaged as fire crews battled the blaze.

The fire sent a column of smoke billowing into the sky as drivers tried to get home.

When crews arrived, flames could be seen from the one-story auto shop, and it took over on an hour to get the fire under control.
