(Shelby County) A three-foot-deep sinkhole has closed a section of Jack Bond Road near Brunswick.

Shelby County Public Works officials tell us the sinkhole formed late this afternoon after several hours of heavy rain.

The road is closed at 8030 Jack Bond Road.

The sinkhole is between Brunswick Road and Pleasant Ridge Road.

Those living near the sinkhole will have access to their homes.

However, all other traffic will be rerouted.

Shelby County Public Works crews have detour signs posted.
