MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A school bus burst into flames outside a school.

It happened around 2 p.m. at Winchester Road and Mendenhall Road, where Power Center Academy High School is.

The bus driver smelled smoke and evacuated with the one student who was on the bus at the time, according to school staff.

Minutes after they got off, the bus caught on fire.

No one was hurt.

Memphis Fire officials are investigating how the blaze started.

The burned bus was towed away, and the bus driver brought students home on a new bus.
