Tennessee man charged with murder after Olive Branch motel shooting

OLIVE BRANCH, Miss. — A Tennessee man was arrested after a deadly shooting in Olive Branch, Mississippi late Tuesday evening.

According to police, officers were called to the Super 8 Motel near US-78 and Hacks Cross Road after shots were fired. When they arrived they found 34-year-old Christopher Smith of Holly Springs suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He died on the scene.

The suspect, Darius Braddock of Bolivar, Tennessee, fled to Hardeman County after the shooting. He was arrested by the sheriff’s office and charged with murder.

His bond was set at $1 million.
