LEBANON, Tenn. — The pilot that crashed his plane near the Lebanon Municipal Airport on Thursday has died.

Mark Harrell was flying a one-seater plane, and suffered serious injuries caused by the crash.

He was rushed to a nearby hospital where he later died.

On Thursday, WREG reported the plane went down near a residential area in Lebanon.

WTVF discovered it actually came to rest in one homeowner’s backyard, but only caused minor damage.

It’s still unclear what caused the plane to crash.

The NTSB is leading the investigation.
