National Day of Prayer Events to be held throughout the Mid-South

(Memphis) Today marks the national observance of the National Day of Prayer.

This year’s theme is Pray for America.

It emphasizes the need for individuals to place their faith in their Creator.

The National Day of Prayer Organization chose Matthew 12:21 as the Scripture for this year. The scripture states: “In His name the nations will put their hope.”

Events will be held throughout the country and here in the Mid-South:

7 a.m.: National Day of Prayer on the front steps of the Hernando Courthouse

9 a.m.: Students at St. Louis School on White Station will gather at the school’s new flag pole to pray

10 a.m. – 5:45 p.m.: Shelby County Mayor Mark Luttrell and local pastors and leaders will meet at Tiger Lane at the Liberty Bowl Memorial Stadium

Noon: National Day of Prayer in Gabbert Park, Senatobia, Mississippi
