Woman killed after being shot, crashing in Orange Mound

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Memphis police say a woman died after she was shot and crashed in Orange Mound Friday afternoon.

Police say the shooting happened in the area of Park Avenue and Pendleton Street. The victim went to the hospital in extremely critical condition. She was later pronounced dead.

The victim’s blue car could be seen sitting on a sidewalk near the intersection with a shattered rear window.

Nicole Walls said she saw a white car speeding after a blue car and heard seven gunshots coming from the white car.

During the chase, she said a gray car was run off the road. That car crashed into a tree at Lewis-Davis Park.

Walls said two women were traveling in that car and that one of them sustained a concussion.

Memphis Police confirm that a second person was taken to the hospital in non-critical condition.

More Police were spotted around the corner from the shooting scene at David and Select where officers had marked at least 16 shell casings on the ground. Police didn’t respond when asked if this scene was connected to the first.

Memphis Police say no suspect information is available at this time.

This is a developing story.
