MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A man was shot early Saturday morning in the Cooper-Young area.

Police said the suspect saw the victim, a 36-year-old man, in the Beauty Shop at 966 Cooper St. However, the owner of the Beauty Shop told WREG they were never inside the restaurant, and a witness told WREG the men were next door in Bar DKDC.

Police said the two started to argue and went outside to a parking lot, where the shooting happened.

Witnesses told police they heard multiple shots.

Officers found the victim bleeding when they responded to the scene around 2:45 a.m.

The victim was taken to Regional Medical Center in critical condition, but he is no longer critical, police said.

The suspect, Michael Federline, had driven away from the scene, but police found him later in the 2400 block of Hale Avenue.

Police took Federline, 44, into custody. He is charged with aggravated assault.
