Man shot and killed trying to recover stolen car

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A 36-year-old man was shot and killed in Whitehaven late Saturday evening.

According to police, the victim saw his stolen car at the Hickory Hill Apartments in the 3400 block of Graceland Drive and tried to get it back.

Two suspects then confronted him and shot him during an argument, police said.

The victim was pronounced dead on the scene, making this the city’s 132nd homicide of the year.

Police and loved ones identified the victim as Terralonce “Tee” Stanford of Greenville, Mississippi.

The suspects fled the scene before police arrived, and they are at large.

Police are investigating.
