(WREG-TV) There were significant developments in the school saga after Germantown presented its counter proposal to the Shelby County school board.

Germantown is fighting to have all eight schools within its city limits be part of the new Germantown school district.

But while the door didn’t shut completely, the tone of the discussion during the mayor’s presentation quickly went negative.

Also this week, school board member Billy Orgel even went so far as to suggest it was time to change the names of the three Germantown schools that Shelby County wants to keep.

It’s sounding more and more like the SCS board has made up its mind.
