WREG employee killed in house fire

LAKELAND, Tenn. –The Shelby County Fire Department says one person was killed in a house fire sparked by lightning.

Nancy Allen worked here at WREG as a Production Graphics Operator for 30 years.

Allen’s husband Bobby also works at the station.

Fire officials say it appears she tried to get out, but the fire engulfed the home.

Firefighters responded in six minutes and say some damage was caused to other homes.
