SHELBY COUNTY, Tenn. –Family and friends are mourning the deaths of two women discovered dead inside a North Shelby County home Monday afternoon.

“They’re good folks. They didn’t deserve this.”

The two victims were identified as Ronda Renee and Brenda Bishop Dukes.

On Monday, Ronda’s mother walked into the home and made a real-life horrifying find – the married couple was dead inside.

“I was up at my school cutting grass and I got my phone and he said Renee had been shot, and her friend with her- can you go to the house,” said the family’s pastor, Billy Thomas.

Thomas told WREG Ronda’s grandchildren were there when the bodies were discovered.

The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office would not tell us much about what their investigation has uncovered, but it sounds like they have some idea who this and why.

“Definitely foul play, there are suspects, people of interest they’re looking for right now,” said a spokesperson with the department.

Friends told us the women met at the KFC in Tipton County where they both worked at one point.

Brenda was set to report to work Monday night.

Friends of the family said there was a custody issue in the family regarding Ronda’s grandchildren but it’s unclear if that played a role in what happened inside the home.
