FORT LAUDERDALE, Fl. — Smoke from FedEx flight 910 could be seen for miles.
When the plane touched down in Fort Lauderdale apparently one of it’s wheels on the left side failed.
“There was a trail of fire. It was like a fireball running fuel fire down the runway.”
The jet left Memphis International around 3 p.m., making the routine flight to South Florida. The landing was anything but routine.
The left main landing gear appeared to collapse, slamming the engine into the ground. A few moments later, an explosion that was caught on camera from passengers in a nearby terminal.
The pilots were unhurt.

Great job by airport fire dept. Took about 5 minutes to put fire out. Looks like a DC10 aircraft. pic.twitter.com/Ecrh0oau87
