(Memphis 07/23/2009) Speaking exclusively with our sister station WTVF's Phil Williams in Nashville, Joel Watts said it wasn't money he was after when he contacted Tennessee State Senator Paul Stanley. Watts said when he found photos that suggested his girlfriend 22-year-old McKensie Morrison was having an affair with Stanley, he wanted the Republican Senator to admit he was wrong.

"I wanted an apology. I called and asked this gentleman for an apology. It is recorded and documented. I never, ever demand and/or asked for money. I asked him for an apology," said Watts.

Stanley has yet to say publicly he was involved with his intern. But according to affidavits, he admitted to having a sexual relationship with Morrison and acknowledged taking pictures of her. The conservative Republican who prides himself on family values is feeling a bit of a fallout surrounding this scandal.

Joan Carr, the Community Affairs Director of Planned Parenthood of Greater Memphis, is questioning if the Senator is a hypocrite. On a Nashville blog--she wrote of meeting with the Senator in April to discuss Planned Parenthood. She says Stanley said he would never support the organization, saying he didn't believe in pre-marital sex. Carr wrote:

"Now I realize that when he said those things, he had already been sexing it up with an intern and her boyfriend was trying to blackmail him with dirty pictures. In retrospect, I think maybe Sen. Stanley meant that he just doesn't want young people to have sex with each other, thereby saving the cute young things for himself."

Watts says he felt he had no choice but to expose the Senator's indiscretion.

"You know I was thinking this guy needs to be exposed. I need to bring his house of cards down," said Watts.

Our phone calls to Senator Stanley were not returned Thursday.
