Memphis fire crews responded to a call for a single house fire in South Memphis overnight, but by the time they got to the scene, two homes were erupting in flames. The homes are across the street from each other on South Orleans near Clifford.
Fire officials say both homes were vacant, and it only took about 20 minutes to get both under control. They say the fires were started separately, and that one did not start the other. One of the homes is a complete loss, the other has about 25% damage.
