(Bolivar County, MS 6/23/2009) A massive manhunt in Mississippi is over. The man suspected of shooting his Mother-In-Law and 4-year-old niece, in the head, gave himself up to Shelby City Police late Tuesday night.

Harvey Lewis is behind bars charged with killing 44-year-old Michelle Walker and 4-year-old Janlia William.

Their bodies were found early Tuesday morning along Highway 61 in Bolivar County, MS.

Shelby City Police say they got an anonymous tip that Lewis was walking along Highway 32.

When they arrived they called his name and he surrendered without a fight. "He turned around and put his hands up and didn't say anything. We then took him into custody," explained Shelby City Police Assistant Chief Barry Smith.

Smith was one of the arresting officers. He says he's known Lewis for years. He says on the car ride back to Bolivar County, Lewis didn't say anything. " I just tried to calm him," said Smith. " I told him he should pray."

Ironically Smith says Lewis admitted that he had done some praying at a church near where he was found.

Investigators say Lewis' murderous rampage began Monday with a domestic disturbance call from his wife who was at a home in Rosedale, Mississippi.

Lewis took off when police arrived. While Bolivar County Sheriff's investigators say he doesn't have a criminal past, one of Lewis' family members says he was violent towards his wife. "We just heard he beat her a couple of times. Threatened her that type of thing," explained Michael Nash, Michelle Walker's brother.

Deputies say after leaving his wife in Rosedale...he turned up in Darling, Mississippi where he kidnapped his Mother- In-Law and niece at gunpoint.

The deputy coroner says their hands were cuffed with plastic ties...both were shot in the head.
