Mayor Pro Tem Myron Lowery says his staff has been working on it.

"I am looking forward to a positive announcement on the Pyramid in the coming days." says Lowery.

And it seems Bass Pro is still very much in the picture, with plans to turn the tomb of doom into a huge outdoor mega store.

Robert Lipscomb, the man handling the Bass Pro deal, says it's finally coming together.

It took a year to get Bass Pro on board and then another three years of delays.

Lipscomb says code issues are to blame.

"Flooding, seismic issues all of these kinds of issues are very important to a company before they invest the kind of money we are talking about. We are not talking about buying a home, talking about investing millions for a company." says Lipscomb.

Bass Pro still seems to be a favorite, even for the man many consider to be the front runner in Mayor's race.

"I hope Bass Pro comes through. But I am gonna be interested in retaining the iconic representation. We are known for that now." says A C Wharton, Memphis Mayoral Candidate.
