FAST FACTS:
(Olive Branch, MS 10/24/2009) The disappearance of 24-year-old Daniel Tyler Albritton is no longer a mystery.
"It is with great regret that I announce to you this evening that Tyler's body has been located," said Olive Branch police chief Don Gammage.
Police say ATV riders found Albritton's red pickup truck in a remote area off College Road. His body was inside. Gammage says right now, their leads show Albritton committed suicide.
The search for Albritton started over a month ago, after he left for classes at Northwest Community College and never showed up. Family and friends posted flyers with his picture all over town and even used sites like Facebook to help find him. Police say, where he was found, there was a chance he would have never been located.
"The helicopter pilot says they couldn't have found this vehicle. It was in a remote area and thank God the ATV riders were out today," said Gammage.
Tyler's family held onto hope that he would return safely. News of Albritton's death brings a new struggle for the family, especially since his wife, Sarah, gave birth to their son, Daniel, just two weeks ago.
"They're pretty shook up, that's to be expected, but their minister was there with them along with the Olive Branch Police Department chaplains and they're holding up pretty good," said Gammage.
