(West Memphis, Arkansas 6/18/09) Police say it all started after 29-year-old Archie Ross picked up his wife, her sister in law and three children late Monday night.
The police report says Ross drove around for about an hour into the early hours of Tuesday arguing with his wife Brooke. He told her that ,"Now they were all going out together".
Ross stopped along the way to let his sister in-law and two children out the car, then took off.
Police say that's when Ross sped the car up, driving the Ford Taurus with his wife and six-year-old son still inside, across the median into the north bound traffic on north Missouri. The car struck a tractor trailer carrying fuel head on.
Police say that miraculously everyone involved walked away with non life threatening injuries. They arrested Archie Ross after a he tried to flee the scene.
Ross has a long arrest history; including a 2006 domestic battery charge for hitting his wife repeatedly. He was on probation at the time of the crash. And is now facing 3 charges of criminal attempt of capital murder, leaving the scene of an accident and resisting arrest.
