She's talking about the new "Elvis in Hollywood" exhibit at Graceland. It is one of three new exhibits expected to attract visitors this tourist season. "If it wasn't fun Elvis didn't want to do it and here its fun, its excitement, its motivation and its music," added Tompkins.
Calling themselves the cornerstone of Memphis travel, folks a Graceland believe they appeal to travelers in a struggling economy.
"We try to rotate something fresh in every year, so it will be kind a new hook that are making the travel decisions, you know women are typically the decision makers when it comes to travel," said Graceland spokesperson Kevin Kern.
Graceland typically has 600,000 visitors a year and while they are expecting the same this year plus they encourage Memphians to come out and stimulate the local economy.
"We are not very expensive like an Orlando, or Miami or Vegas, so Memphis makes a lot of sense," said Kern.
During tourist season, the number of people employed at Graceland typically swells from 350 to 500. With spring break just days away, they still have 30 jobs open.
"We've got to have folks working the Heartbreak Hotel, we've got to be able to sell merchandise and we have to sell the meals," said Kern.
No matter how much fans know about Elvis, they hope like co star Darlene Tompkins, they will come back for more.
The two other new exhibits at Graceland includes "Elvis Lives: The King and Pop Culture" and " Elvis Presley's Automobile Museum".
Graceland hopes Memphis will attract some attention after being featured on several major TV networks, including A&E, The Learning Channel, The Travel Channel, Country Music Television and The History Channel.
The shows will be airing in coming months.
