CORDOVA, Tenn. (WREG-TV) - Memphis firefighters were called to a Cordova apartment complex overnight Sunday, after a fire broke out on the top floor of an apartment building.

The blaze broke out around 1:00 a.m. Sunday at the Country Squire Apartments, located at the intersection of Walnut Grove Road and Germantown Parkway. Several fire engines responded to the blaze. Firefighters were able to bring the blaze under control within 30 minutes.

The fire appeared to have started in an apartment on the top floor, but Memphis Fire officials aren't saying what sparked the blaze at this time. Also, no word yet on how much damage the fire caused, but that unit is completely destroyed, with the roof totally collapsed. A fire wall kept the blaze from spreading to the adjacent apartments on the top floor. Those units appeared to have sustained only smoke and water damage.
