(West Memphis, AR 8/7/2009) Strands of Taser wire are still at the scene, leftover from the incident Theressa Harris says, should have never happened.
"A bunch of lies! A bunch of lies!" Harris said.
Her mother, former West Memphis Councilwoman Helen Harris was arrested last night, after showing up as West Memphis Police arrested her son Marlon Malone for public intoxication.
According to police, Harris wasn't happy. The report claims Harris called the officers "racist", using vulgar language, and saying "You don't know who you're dealing with. I used to be on the city council in this town."
"She doesn't even curse, that's not her style or demeanor. They lied, they lie about everything!" Harris said.
West Memphis Police refused to comment on camera, but the police report says Harris didn't stop there.
The report claims she struck an officer with her car and led police on a chase, before hopping the curb a few blocks away at her business. That's when Harris's daughter says, her 60-year-old mother was assaulted by police as she was placed under arrest.
"You're going tell me it took three police officers to slam her against the wall. Slam her against her car and she didn't have a gun on her!" Harris says.
The Harris Family says they were the victims in the ordeal, and the West Memphis Police got it wrong this time.
"All we want is justice, and justice is not being served in West Memphis," Harris says.
