(Bartlett, TN July 2, 2009 10:45 PM) -- Bartlett Police have charged a 30-year-old mom with Reckless Endangerment of a Child, after they found a three-year-old girl inside a car parked at the Walgreens at the corner of Stage Road and Bartlett Blvd.
Witnesses say the child was in the car for at least 45 minutes before police were called, then once police arrived the mother didn't show up for over an hour.
Police say the car's windows were up, the doors were unlocked, and the child was in the backseat. There was no car seat in the vehicle.
Police say the mother gave investigators conflicting stories about where she went after she left the child in the car.
We're told the temperature outside at the time the child was found was 88-degrees.
Workers at the Walgreens came to the child's aide before police arrived, trying to cool her down with water and a popsicle.
The child was checked out by paramedics, then brought to a nearby fire station. We're told DCS will now be involved to decide where the child goes from here.
