CLARKSDALE, Miss. (AP) — The Coahoma County supervisor whose solicitation charges were dismissed this week says he'll continue to work as a cardiologist and elected official to help people.
A federal judge dismissed all solicitation charges Thursday against Dr. Roger Weiner, saying the court didn't have jurisdiction in the case.
Weiner had pleaded not guilty to a charge of soliciting prostitutes across state lines after allegedly propositioning women on SugarDaddyforMe.com.
In a statement sent Friday to The Associated Press, Weiner said he has worked hard to help the impoverished Mississippi Delta since moving here from Pennsylvania 10 years ago and will continue to do so.
Weiner said he'd also like to know why he was singled out by the federal government.
