STARKVILLE, Miss. (AP) — Joseph Stiglitz, a creator of the branch of study called "economics of information," will speak Nov. 12 at Mississippi State University.

Stiglitz, the 2001 Nobel Laureate in Economics who also was lead author of a report on climate change that shared the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize, will speak at 7 p.m. in Lee Hall's Bettersworth Auditorium on the MSU campus in Starkville.

Stiglitz is professor at Columbia University and teaches at the business school, graduate school of arts and sciences and School of International and Public Affairs. He is chairman of Columbia's Committee on Global Thought.
