FAST FACTS:
(Memphis 12/05/2009) Edward Braxton didn't know what he was going to do but when he saw his 89-year old neighbor's home engulfed in flames he acted quickly. He ran to the house on the corner of East Trigg Avenue to find the elderly woman lying in the front yard of her south Memphis home suffering from burns to her face, legs and arms.
"We grabbed her and pulled her on the other side of the street. Just in case the house was going to blow up. I didn't if it was going to blow up or what. That was my first instinct to just grab her and bring her safety," said Braxton.
"She was taken to the Regional Medical Center's burn unit in critical condition," Lieutenant Wayne Cook of the Memphis Fire Department said at the scene.
The woman, Willie Baker, later died at the MED.
Cooke says the woman received third degree burns on her entire body. It took over 30 firefighters to put out the blaze. They still aren't sure what started the fire.
