"They shot him like he was a dog, like he wasn't human," said the victim's brother Isaac Brown.

The high school senior will never graduate, never pursue his love for music, never hear his father's words of encouragement.

"He was getting ready to graduate this year. We had high hopes for him," said his dad, Joseph Brown III.

"I'm hurt, I'm irate. I can't believe this happened to my brother," said Isaac Brown.

Police say a fight at Raleigh-Egypt High School was what sparked this shooting. They say a younger classmate drove up, pointed a gun at Brown and pulled the trigger several times.

Witnesses say they heard as many as 6 gunshots.

"It's sad somebody had to take his life, it's sad," said his dad.

Brown's brother wonders if the teenage suspect realizes the damage he's done to his own family.

"My brother's gone, now her son's gonna be gone," said Isaac Brown.

He says his brother loved sports especially basketball. He had seven siblings. Relatives still stunned by the news gathered at the family's home, comforting one another.

"Life is so precious, something we take for granted, we don't know what tomorrow's gonna bring," said Brown's dad.

We checked into Brown's background. He pled guilty to a Disorderly Conduct charge in August. Police say he was part of a large disturbance in the street involving as many as 75 people.
