(Memphis 01/09/2010) Saturday brought another day of bone chilling temperatures to the Mid-South but instead of staying inside, its starting to look like some Mid-Southerners are embracing the cold.

At the Agri-Center, there's an ice-skating rink. Well, at least that's what these kids have made of the area where the corn maize is normally. The muddy field has a layer of ice thick enough to run, skate and even play hockey on.

Downtown, freezing temperatures didn't stop people from "Running For The Red." The Mid-South chapter of the Red cross held it's second annual 5k run and while some felt like they didn't have on enough.

"I've got some stretchy pants on underneath and then a couple of shirts and gloves and a hat and a hood and I wish I had more," said runner Ben Roberson.

"I'm jumping up and down, shaking and making my body move and just praying that I don't die," he continued.

Others say once they were moving they felt fine, "We did a little warm up job and we're sweating already. So just layers, just different layers on that's all. Protect your hands, protect your head, ears that's how you stay warm," said runner Carolyn Rock.

Then there were those who seemed to be immune to the cold, like Dave Huntzinger. he was in shorts and a runner's tank top like it was a summer day.

"I'm just focused on the race not the cold at all," said Huntzinger.
