- Southaven Mayor Asked to Resign Over Misspending
- Residents Formed Organization to Hold Government Accountable
- Residents Want Laws Changed to Give Them More Power
The group expressed anger at comments by the city's Board of Alderman that mayor Greg Davis can't be recalled, or can't have his salary lowered unless it applies to his successor.
Alderman Ronnie Hale attended the meeting. HE took a beating from residents who wanted the board to do more to get rid of Mayor Davis, who technically is serving out his term, but is currently in medical treatment of some sort.
The group elected a committee to lead them through their efforts for change in Southaven's government, and pledged to look into changing laws that prevent them for forcing Mayor Davis out of office.
"Our voice is going to be heard, we're going to be organized, not in hostile ways, only to get results is in a positive way." said Linda Temple, the groups organizer.
