FAST FACTS:
(Memphis 12/2/2009) Memphis police find a cache of weapons stolen from a North Memphis pawn shop after the store owner is tied up in a brazen robbery.
It happened at the Hollywood Pawn at 2655 Hollywood.
Police say two armed suspects stormed the store about 10:30am. They tied up the pawn shop owner with duct tape and stole thousands of dollars in cash and a display filled with 18 handguns. They fired 2 random shots and left but part of the crime was caught on tape.
The surveillance camera next door at the Skylake Food Market was rolling and captured one suspect leaving with a duffle bag in his hands. Shortly afterwards, you see the store owner who has broken free run out carrying a shotgun. While he's searching for that suspect, he's unaware the other suspect is still in his store.
When he realizes this, he turns to Run after him but it's too late. The suspect gets away but not for long. Memphis police locate them and their getaway car within the hour. They spend the rest of the afternoon searching for the guns. They take one of the suspects back to his North Memphis home but they don't find the weapons there. Police tell News Channel 3 they located them elsewhere about 3pm today.
The robbery is of great concern in the small shopping center where the pawn shop is located. It's the second business in a week that has been robbed. The Headliner's Barber Shop was robbed last Tuesday.
