FAST FACTS:
Christopher askew under investigation for allegedly soliciting a teen for sex
Mother says he even offered to pay
No charges have been filed. Askew says he didn't do it
(Hernando, MS 3/09/2010) Christopher Askew is a father to two little girls. Over the weekend, two days after his 40-th birthday, a15-year-old girl accused him of making an indecent proposal.
"I can't talk to you about that man," Askew said when he answered his Crenshaw, Mississippi home.
It supposedly happened Saturday while he was on the job at a Hernando Walmart.
According to the police report the teen-age girl told her mother Askew "tried to solicit her...for sex."
She says he even offered $100.
We asked Askew about the allegation, he said " no, never that," before shutting the door.
Hernando police confirm they're investigating the allegations. Askew denies making any foul mouthed advances. But he did admit he spoke to the teenage girl.
"All I did was ask her: You making a birthday cake for someone? She said ' no! I'm making a cake for my best friend's baby shower.' That was the end of the conversation."
Before police arrived, dispatchers noted the store manager needed police backup because the teen's mother was "irate and wanted to get to the employee."
"My most prized possession is my child," explained Wal-Mart shopper Randy Hale. "If anything happened to her I don't know what I would do... I would have taken care of the situation then and probably gotten myself in trouble with police."
The case is still under investigation. No charges have been filed.
We spoke to a Walmart representative but did not receive a statement.
