GREENVILLE, S.C. (WREG-TV) - Police in Greenville, S.C. are investigating the murder of a Memphis man on Christmas Day.

29-year-old Rafael Dodd died, after he was shot in the chest at an apartment complex in Greenville. Police say it appears Dodd was trying to act as a peacemaker, in an argument between two men and a woman.

Greenville Police say 26-year-old Clinton Owens was arguing with a woman, when Dodd tried to intervene. That's when 26-year old Julian Battle began arguing with Dodd and shot him in the chest. Police arrested both men about 12 hours after the shooting took place. They are now facing charges of 1st degree murder.

Police say Dodd was spending time with friends and family in the Greenville area. His family lives in Memphis.
