Her son, David Keller, was 18 at the time of the accident. The explosion on May 31, 2002, was contained inside one portion of the building.

She said that she did not want people to forget that this is not the first explosion at Kinematics on Bowers Road.

She said that her son's life was put on hold for a year, as they went through numerous surgeries on his left hand and months of painful physical therapy. Metal fragments entered his brain, the largest of which was about one inch thick.

Mrs. Keller said that she was deeply concerned for the families of the employees involved in Wednesday's explosion, particularly that of 34-year-old Clifford Davis, who died in the blast.

She said that she got chills as she drove past Bowers Road last week, just remembering her son's accident.

Mrs. Keller told News Channel 3 she hopes a full investigation is done before the business re-opens.
