Police got a call about a home invasion at the Cordova Creek Apartments.

Officers arrived at the complex, and quickly made their way to 7915 Ryan Cove.

They soon realized the story about the home invasion was bogus.

Police say when they arrived there were several children inside the apartment including a 23-month-old little girl, and three boys; ages 14, 13 and 11.

Police say the boys told them a man stormed inside, took several items and then left.

Police say there wasn't a mysterious robber, instead they say the boys made up the story about the home invasion in order to cover up a more heinous crime.

MPD Sex Crimes investigators determined the little girl was sexually assaulted. All three boys are now charged with rape.

We spoke to the little girl's father. He says one of the suspects is his stepson. "We don't have any idea what happened," he said. "The stories are not matching."

The man says he spent hours at LeBonheur holding his little girl. He says she's doing as well as can be expected under the circumstances.

She was initially taken to the hospital in critical condition.

The girl's father says he hasn't talked to investigators.

He also hasn't been able to talk to his stepson who is now locked up along with the other two boys at Juvenile Court.
