Davis drives to work each day along Boeingshire near Winchester, "They need to fix that pothole before somebody gets hurt."
Many drivers tell News Channel 3 the hole in the road has been expanding and growing in the past couple of days.
Davis said, I've never seen a pot hole that big. (laughter)"
It is big. In fact, the pothole is now about four feet wide and almost a foot deep.
Davis said, "It looks terrible. They need to come and fix it before someone's car gets damaged."
The pothole was likely created after the recent snow. Even though the City of Memphis has barricaded it, Stephanie Howard is still concerned for the safety of the children who attend a nearby daycare center where she's the director.
Howard said, "That's terrible. That's dangerous for one. I have a lot of students coming in and out. The drivers have to come in and out with the children. So that pothole has got to be fixed."
Until it's fixed, the barricade will apparently remain up and Daffney Davis will likely drive in the opposite direction of a potentially dangerous pothole.
David said, "When I leave off my job I'm going that away. I'm not going back that way.(laughter)."
The City of Memphis tells News Channel 3 crews will put down gravel and a steel plate over the pothole this weekend and they'll eventually fix it.
