(Memphis 7/19/2010) For the second time in two months a Memphis Firefighter is facing DUI charges.
41-year-old David Gann was arrested Sunday. He's charged with a laundry list of crimes that include possession of a gun while intoxicated.
Police found a loaded revolver beneath the seat of his car.
Investigators tracked Gann down after a driver called police telling them they spotted a Honda Odyssey driving "recklessly and speeding."
When police finally caught up with the Odyssey, it had been involved in a three car crash on 385 and Ridgeway. Gann was behind the wheel.
Police say the 41-year-old firefighter " performed poorly on a field sobriety test.... refused a blood alcohol test and put a full can of tobacco in his mouth in an apparent effort to disguise the smell of alcohol. "
Inside Gann's Odyssey police say they found an open container of Budweiser behind his seat.
They say he even admitted to recently taking Xanax and a Lexapro
Back in May, Gann told us about his daughter's terminal cancer.
His wife didn't have much to say about her husband's recent trouble from behind a closed door.
When asked if she could tell us what her husband's going through, facing two charges in two months she replied "No I can't. I'm sorry."
Gann was already off the job with pay because of the previous DUI charge
Fire officials say they'll have to wait until he gets out of jail and talks to them before they can make a decision about his future with the fire department.
