Robert Redditt sponsored the motion to buy out the remainder of Wilson's contract. He gave fellow board members his reasoning during Thursday night's meeting. He alleges Wilson gave the social security numbers of some teachers to medical organizations, didn't reinstate insurance programs after being directed by the board and paid a suspended employee.

We tried to reach Wilson for comment Friday but he wasn't home. School board member David Barnes says there was a growing dissatisfaction with Wilson among the majority of board members.

"There's been a general sense of grumbling over some of the things we've seen happen that we wish had happened differently," said Board member David Barnes.

He couldn't pin point when the problems started and says the complaints vary. One school board member pointed out the way an October school bus accident was handled, Barnes says they were at a boiling point

"Yes, I think we had reached a point where really there was no other option. It was either we had come down to either waiting until his contract was over or taking some sort of action," said Barnes during a phone interview.

Wilson's contract was up in June of 2011. The buyout will cost the school system close to 150-thousand dollars. Louise Holloway will serve as the interim Director of Schools.
