FAST FACTS:
(Memphis 3/10/2010) Michael Stewart walked out of Juvenile Court defending his son. The 16-year-old boy is facing aggravated rape charges.
"She left with them and got back to school and she was saying different," explained Stewart."
Tuesday morning a 17-year-old East High School student told school officials she was raped, off campus, by several schoolmates.
She told police she knew four of the guys, all of them East High students.
The girl told police at least five people committed the crime. Two 18-year-old suspects are behind bars. Stuart's 16-year-old son made his first appearance Wednesday in Shelby County Juvenile Court.
"It ain't nothing, "exclaimed the 16-year-old suspect's father,"It's just word of mouth. I don't believe it at all."
This isn't the teenager's first brush with the law. He faced drug charges back in 2008 and he's also been in trouble for gambling and traffic violations.
Despite the allegations and previous history the teen's father says his son is innocent.
"He don't have a reason to do anything like this. He's a well brought up child. "
Stewart hoping this latest brush with the law will be a wake-up call for his 16-year-old son.
"Everybody gets a message. It's a message to him to get his life straight."
Stewart's son is being detained at the Shelby County Juvenile Court.
Police say so far no charges have been filed.
