FAST FACTS:
Firefighters found the body of a 89-year old Alice Salisbury outside her burning home in the 1500 block of South Main near Third and South Parkway late Tuesday night.
Fire fighters say when they arrived on the scene at 10:40 p.m. flames were shooting out of the front of her home. In fact, they say the fire was so intense they had to fight it from the outside.
Witnesses say Salisbury was on fire when she came out of her home and say neighbors rolled her over to put out the fire, but could not save her life. Fire fighters said she had burns over 100% of her body.
The woman's roommate was at work when the fire broke and did not get a good look at the damage until early this morning.
"I'm still upset. She was a nice old lady that just couldn't move fast enough. She was 89 years old," said Sylvester Gross.
The cause of the fire has not been determined. Sylvester says his roommate did use a space heater in her bedroom. Fire investigators don't know if there was working smoke detector in the home.
