TN Sailor Killed In Combat Operations In Afghanistan

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- A sailor from Tennessee has been killed while on active duty in Afghanistan.

The U.S. Department of Defense say 25-year-old Xin Qi of Cordova died Saturday. The Defense Department says Qi, a Petty Officer 2nd Class who was assigned to the Fourth Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion, Marine Expeditionary Brigade -- Afghanistan was killed while supporting combat operations.

Details of Qi's death were not immediately available Sunday from the Department of Defense.
