(Tate County, MS December 8, 2009 9:15 PM) -- Several families in the Golden Pond Subdivision in Tate County near Coldwater, MS are experiencing a real-life re-occurring nightmare.

For the third time in a year, their homes have flooded. Donna Vaughn and her family experienced so much damage to their home after a storm in July, most of the inside had to be reconstructed.

The Vaughns moved back into their home just two weeks ago. They were finally ready to live a normal life again. Then the storm hit Tuesday, and the water poured in again. "No family should have to live like this," Vaughn says. "It's emotional. Nobody cares."

Down the street, Kelly and Derrick Womble are having similar problems. "I wish they'd do something," says Kelly. "If these were their homes they'd do something."

The families have tried to get help from several local and state agencies, but they both say they've hit roadblocks every time. They say one agency ends up blaming the other, but nothing ever gets resolved.

"You pray and pray that it's not going to happen to you again, and then it happens," says Vaughn. She wonders how many more times it will flood before someone does something to solve the problem.
