SACRAMENTO - California Highway Patrol officials released video Friday morning showing Sacramento Kings basketball play Tyreke Evans weaving in an out of traffic as he allegedly raced a silver vehicle on Interstate 80 in late May.

The incident led to Evans pleading no contest to accusations of reckless driving on July 23rd after being cited by the CHP for driving speeds in excess of 100 miles per hour along Interstate 80 near Antelope Road May 301st.

Evans' license was suspended for 30 days. The basketball player later apologized to fans and the Sacramento Kings in a message posted on Twitter.com.

The video, shot by a law enforcement aircraft, shows Evans and an unidentified passenger speeding in and out of traffic along Interstate 80 along with a silver sedan. It's believed that Evans may have been racing the other vehicle, though no connection has been officially confirmed by authorities.

Evans was pulled over at a park near Norwood Avenue. The video shows officers drawing their firearms toward the vehicle, which officers explained was later due to the illegally-tinted windows on Evans' car.

Evans was cited by responding CHP officers and sent on his way. He signed autographs for nearby children before leaving in his vehicle.

Evans, who was named the NBA "Rookie of the Year" for 2010, did not make comments to FOX40 News when approached by a photographer and a reporter after the incident. Tyreke's brother Doc Evans told FOX40.com by phone shortly after the incident that the basketball star was unaware he was speeding and had tinted windows beyond the legal limit for privacy reasons.
