(Memphis-7/6/09)-Lots of violent crime in Memphis over the 4th of July weekend. One Memphis woman says she's tired of what's happening in her neighborhood near Person and Kansas in south Memphis.

Sometime early Saturday morning someone broke the back window of LaTonda Graham's car and tore out her stereo. It's the 2nd time in 2 weeks her car has been broken into.

"It was very upsetting to me, because I of course have no money to repair this," said Graham.

Graham says she's been victim of crime more times in the last year than the entire 12 years she's lived on Person.

Last summer someone broke into her home and stole jewelry and electronics. They came back two weeks later, but were scared off by a new alarm system.

She says anything left outside her home appears to be fair game for those trying to make a quick buck.

"My grandfather passed a couple years ago so I got plants from his funeral and there was one taken one week, one the next and then last Friday it was the water hose, then there was the mailbox," said Graham.

Graham isn't the only crime victim. The Memphis Police Departments' Crime Tracker shows in just the last 30 days in the Person/Kansas neighborhood there have been 11 car breaks-ins, 19 other personal property thefts, 43 burglaries, 5 robberies, 6 motor vehicle thefts and 9 aggravated assaults.

Gaham thinks police need to do more to stop crime and she has a message for the criminals.

"I think they should get out, get a job, get your own things, like everyone else. It's unfair to people who work hard and buy things with their money and you come and take them," said Graham.

"Graham has also asked the city to help cut down the crime around her by clearing the vacant lot next to her house. City officials, thoughs, say the city doesn't cut down trees and she would have to find the property owner.
